Ann Leila Kirkpatrick is a retired U.S. politician and lawyer who served as U.S. Representative for Arizona's Second Constituency since 2019. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented District No. 1 in the Arizona Congress from 2009 to 2011 and again. from 2013 to 2017. Kirkpatrick is also a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. First elected to Congress in 2008 in Arizona's No.1 constituency, Kirkpatrick was unimpeded in the 2010 midterm election. She regained her old seat in a tight race in 2012 and re-elected in 2014. Kirkpatrick ran for the US Senate in 2016 and was defeated by incumbent Republican John McCain. In 2018, Kirkpatrick was elected to Congress in Arizona's No. 2 Congress District; she is re-elected in 2020. On March 12, 2021, Kirkpatrick announced that she will not be reelected in 2022
