Jason Statham is an English actor. Judged as an anti-hero, he is known for his action-horror roles and tough, irreversible Machiavellian characters. Born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, he began practicing kung fu, kickboxing and karate for fun at a young age while working for the local market stalls. A football player and diver with a passion for football, he was selected by the British National Divers Team to compete in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Soon after, he was asked to model for French Connection, Tommy Hilfiger and Levi's in various advertising campaigns. Statham's past career in market stalls inspired his role in Guy Ritchie's crime films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. The commercial success of these films led him to play Frank Martin in the Transporter trilogy.
He rose to prominence as a result of his parts in The Transporter film series and Snatch. War, Death Race, Furious 7, Spy, and the Expendables trilogy are among his other action films.
