Sanjay Balraj Dutt is an Indian actor working in Hindi films. He's the recipient of a number of awards, including two Filmfare awards and three screen awards. Dutt has starred in 187 films, ranging from romance to comedy, but is often categorized into the action genre and established himself as one of the most popular Hindi movie actors of the 1980s, 1990, 2000 and 2010. Son of two actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Dutt made his acting debut in Rocky directed by his father. The crime thriller Naam proved to be a turning point in his career, followed by a string of commercial hits from this decade including Jeete Hain Shaan Se, Mardon Wali Baat, Ilaaka, Hum Bhi Insaan Hain and Kanoon Apna Apna. He received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor for Saajan and Khalnayak. Dutt won his first Best Actor at the ceremony for playing an ordinary gangster in Vaastav: The Reality.
He is an Indian cinema actor and producer who is also well-known for his political activities. In 2013, he was found guilty of illegally possessing firearms and sentenced to five years in jail. In February of 2016, he was released.
