Brady Patrick Hoke is an American football coach who holds the position of head coach for the second time at San Diego State University. He was head coach at the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2014. He grew up in Ohio and attended Ball State University, where he played online from 1977 to 1980. He began his coaching career in 1982 and has held positions of assistant coaching staff in Grand Valley State, Western Michigan, Toledo, Oregon State and Michigan. Hoke left his position as assistant coach in Michigan in December 2002 to become head soccer coach at his alma mater, Ball State. During his six years at Ball State, Hoke is credited with rotating football shows. In 2008, he led the Ball State team to a 12-1 record and made his first appearance in the Top 25 of the Associated Press in school history. In December 2008, Hoke was hired as the football head coach at San Diego State University.
