Hobie Landrith died in Sunnyvale, California on the sixth of April, 2023. Large numbers of his fans alluded to him as the first Met. Jay Horwitz, the VP of graduated class advertising for the Mets, made the declaration of his passing on Saturday.
Horwitz took to his web-based entertainment expressing, “He let me know I was the primary individual from the association who brought him in north of 50 years. Hobie, a left-given catcher, was excited and said he generally valued his short time frame with the Mets. Hobie and Roger Craig shaped our most memorable battery in the season opener back in 1962. Today I am so blissful I settled on that decision since last Thursday Hobie died at 93 years old. I’m happy he realized we thought often about him.”

Landrith’s significant other brought forth Randy on November 18, 1954, while Landrith was partaking in winter ball in Puerto Rico.
Hobie went home for the day work to fly home to visit his new child at his own expense, with the group proprietor’s arrangement. The disadvantage of this was that notwithstanding having the third-most noteworthy batting normal in the association, his group excused him subsequent to paying for a flight return and just having him contend in a solitary match. Afterward, his child David was born on October 14, 1961, at Plants Emergency clinic in San Mateo, California, four days after Landrith was chosen by the Mets.
Landrith is presently made due by his significant other, Peggy, their children and little girls, his brother Dale, 11 grandkids, and 11 incredible grandkids.
